A Perfect Morning

Today was a great day and perfect way to start my weekend! I had breakfast with my sister and neice.....we went to Wild Eggs in Westport Village. My first time there, it was really good. They have a pretty interesting menu and everything looked really yummy. We did a little shopping in the village, I found a couple pair of really cool earrings, got them both for $20 bucks! Love a good deal. Then went to Whole Foods...they had some beautiful tulips...so, of course, I had to have them! They are so pretty and make me feel like spring in just around the corner.

Loving This Weather!

We had a really great weekend and the weather was so nice for a change. I couldn't believe when we were on our way home from church and the car said the outside temp was 58, and the sun was shining! There is almost no sign left of the 8 inches of snow, I finally see grass!
We saw the movie Valentines Day this weekend, I really liked it. It reminded me of Love Actually, (which I really love) all those situations going on and some how linked to one another, but I found myself mostly being drawn to all the flowers in the background. There were some cool bouquets going out! That is one thing about living in this area, we just don't have flowers like that. I remember being in Seattle at Pikes Market and seeing all the huge bouquets of gorgeous flowers stuck in big buckets for sale, and they really weren't that expensive. If I lived there, I would be down there daily getting flowers for our home.

My favorite flower is a huge beautiful hydrangea, and if mine don't bloom again this year, I will be devastated! I think with the long ice storm we had last year, it caused them not to bloom.  I really missed being able to cut and dry them. Here's to thawing out and looking forward to spring blooms!

Everything PINK!

I love the color pink...just something about it makes me happy. I'm always a sucker for all that stuff in the store that's pink and green and sometimes has our initial.....not sure why, I don't usually buy any of it, just love looking! Well today my new pink fetish is PINK. You know, the singer Pink....not usually my style of music, but like a lot of us, I was moved by her song she performed at the grammys. I mentioned to my husband that I might check her music out (she has a really beautiful voice)  and the very next day he comes home with her new album (he's very sweet like that!) I really like it.....I just placed my two favorite songs from the album on my playlist....so sit back crank up the sound and enjoy yourself some PINK!

Charleston

We just spent Valentines weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. We visited Tony and Mary Beth at their new home on Sullivan's Island. It's a beautiful home and the island is pretty cool.

I have to say, I absolutely loved the downtown area in Charleston. It's a beautiful old city,  the homes that are there are gorgeous and so well maintained. I guess most of them built in the 1800's or earlier.

Every block there is something to see.......I was taken back by the gardens and alleys that we so neat and welcoming! It almost reminded me of the streets in Europe.

You have probably seen this picture many times, it's the famous rainbow row, the colors and homes that Charleston is know for.

It's lovely there and I can't wait to go back in warmer weather so I can take in more of the downtown area. The shopping was endless....so many cool places and the dining was excellent! Shrimp and grits and she-crab soup.....loved it!

We also stopped in to visit James, Kris and the kids. Had a great time with them. They will be there for 2 more years, so we will be going back soon!

5 Years Already!

I can't believe that we have been in this house for 5 years! The time has truly passed me by and there is still so much that I need to do. I made so many decisions in the building process that it has taken me a long time to get to the decorating part or to feel like I've made each room reflect my style. As part of my plans to do more this year and not put off those things that I'm always trying to get around to...I've decided to do a little painting in some areas, change some furniture around and try to create some new looks. I'm so terrible about getting bored with a room before I even have it complete! The one room that I feel happy with most of the time would probably be our bedroom. It still feels good to me and is the room I spend most of my time in...............

This was suppose to be my chair to relax and read in (usually the latest edition of Country Living :) but lately everytime I turn around....Miss Macy is using it!

So, I usually end up in my other favorite spot.....the bathtub! (No wonder I have such dry skin issues!)

As I continue to work on the rest of my house,  I'll share my before and afters!
