My Sister, The Chef!

If there is one thing that all my brothers and sisters have in common, it would be our love for food. We grew up eating anything and everything. My mom was raised in Georgia and is absolutely a great "southern" cook. We always had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, some type of greens, homemade biscuits or cornbread and we didn't know anything about cokes, it was sweet tea with lemon! I guess that is where my sister got her talent...she is a fabulous cook and has a way of throwing things together and coming out with something great. If you didn't get a chance to see it already...try to find a copy of the Courier from Wednesday, she was featured in the cooking section. She also included some of her favorite recipes and I can tell you, they are great!

Congratulations Rebekah! You know you can cook for me anytime!!

Perfect Day

We just got back this morning from spending the day and night in Nashville. We had the best day yesterday.....a perfect day! This was my Valentines gift....a day shopping, went to see Lady A at the Ryman, spent the night and drove back today. It was quick, but so worth it!

We started out in Franklin, and if you've never been to the historic downtown, I highly recommend it. They have some lovely shops there, and it's such a pretty downtown. I try to stop there anytime we are in the Nashville area.

I then found another really cool area to shop, closer to downtown Nashville. I was so excited when I spotted my favorite store.........

ANTHROPOLOGIE!!!!!!

Here I am going in.....so excited!

I was so excited about being there, I couldn't decide on anything.....I ended up with a $12 candle!
There were also some other really cool shops in this area, I'd like to go back and shop here when we have more time.

But, the best part of the day was seeing Lady Antebellum! I can't tell you how good this show was. Sometimes you never know with concerts.....the sound can be bad, or you end up near some people who are just there to drink. But, everything was great, we had awesome seats (of course, at the Ryman there is hardly a bad seat in the house....I think it just holds a few thousand) they sounded really good live and they were fun! Did all my favorite songs! And guess who was there with his brother....Josh Kelley (if you didn't know, Josh and the lead singer for Lady A (Charles Kelley) are brothers. ) Josh opened for them, and then later did a song with the band. It was awesome!

Thank you honey for such a wonderful gift.....you are the best!

Trying To Get Back

It seems like it's been a long hard winter. As I look back over the past few months, we've had a lot going on and the time just keeps clicking away. I've spent the past week with the worst sinus infection I can ever remember having and feeling a little blue about this gorgeous weekend that has pretty much past me by.
I haven't had my sewing machine on since, well...probably around Thanksgiving! I decided today, that even though I'm not 100%, I've got special orders waiting on me and I'm getting back to it! I decided to bring my machine back to the kitchen where the lighting is natural and bright. (I've had it up stairs in a make-shift craft room that is a bit messy right now and not inspring me!) I hired my best helper......she is after all my #1 fan and inspiration!

Here are some of the things we are working on for the spring....

Did I say I liked pink!

Some not pink options ;)

Stay tuned for more cute collars and hopefully, I'll have them available in my Etsy store real soon. I hope you are having a great weekend and that the sun is shining on you, warming your soul and inspiring you to get back to it!
