Our baby is 21!!

I can't believe she is 21!

Where does the time go. It seems not that long ago she came into our lives....I loved her so much, I would pretend she was mine when I would babysit her! By the time she was 5 or 6, I was sharing a home with her and we would fight like sisters...(I was a little immature for a 19 year old!) As she got older our relationship would change from time to time....sometimes it felt like having a little sister, sometimes I felt almost like a 2nd mom. Now, as she has become a really great young lady, she is my very best friend! She is as beautiful on the inside as she is out (I know, hard to believe...she is sooo pretty.) She is a big time family person, so caring....sometimes we tease her that she acts older than us (we just get mad because she is smarter than we ever were!) I love her so much and I am so proud of her!

What are you goin' do with those shoes!!

Happy 21st Birthday Alex.......you rock!

Our Christmas Tree

With every holiday I always have that one little favorite thing, and for me at Christmas, it's all about the tree! We go out every year and find a beautiful real fraser fir. Each year it has a little different character and size, but we always say, it's the prettiest one yet (even if it's not;)

I love going through all my ornaments. To me it's almost like going through pictures...each one has some memory of a place we've been or a gift that someone gave...some are from the many fun ornament exchanges we had at Sharon's each year.

This ornament I bought in Paris, when Alex and I went to visit James, the other is the first ornament that Pat and I bought for our first tree!

Once the tree is up, I love to just sit and look at it....the room just has a warm glow!

.....and that's November

This month has been filled with birthdays, family get togethers, lots of eatin' and fun ball games! It didn't feel like a typically November to me, I guess the weather has been so warm it doesn't seem like it could be this late in the year. Although, we are getting some cold weather now! It's been misting snow off and on all day today.

The ending of this month just reminds me that Christmas will be here in know time at all. I'm starting to get a little excited about putting up a tree...I guess we will work on that this weekend. I love the feeling of my house when it's all spruced up for Christmas.

Here are a few pictures from Joe's birthday and Thanksgiving. I have to say, my remembering to take pictures has been just awful lately. I didn't get any good pictures of the Glotzbach Thanksgiving we hosted at our house. I'm going to try to do better with this through Christmas!

Alex baked Joe cupcakes for his 40th......

9 Years and Counting!

We just celebrated our 9th year together this week! It's hard for me to believe that we've been married that long. The years really go by....sometimes I have to stop and really think about the things we've done and all that we've been through to account for the time. Life is really pretty nice when you have a husband like mine! I have to say, I'm very blessed. He is one of the "good ones." I never have to remind him to be thoughtful or to even do the simple things that we all forget and take for granted. He is probably better at this than me.

I've learned so much from him about love, being patient and giving....he would like for me to learn a little more about planning, saving and maybe being on time! I just say, we are all a work in progress :)

I look forward to the years to come, the past 9 have been my best so far!

The Munzer Halloween 5

For several years now Mark and Rebekah have been hosting our family Halloween party. We started out saying that we were doing this because Jeremiah and John enjoyed it so much....but now we all get a little excited to dress up and hang out. It's always lots of fun and good eats!

Last year we decided to try dressing as a group...it turned out really good (we did the Wizard of Oz) so this year, we went as......

if you are having a little trouble getting this one...we are the group from Gilligan's Island!!

We had a great time.....can't wait until next year ;)

Meeting Giada!

Rebekah and I had an opportunity to go to Lexington this weekend for the Incredible Food Show. We mainly went because Giada was going to be there and Rebekah got us tickets for her cooking demo. She was great! So nice to everyone....she let people ask lots of questions and help her cook. She seemed very at ease and super nice.

We then hung around to meet her and she signed our cookbooks! She was so sweet to us, and once we were in front of her, we couldn't believe how beautiful she is! Way prettier in person than on TV......is that possible?

We loved her and had a great time!

Harvesting Greens

There is one thing I love about eating at my moms often, her greens! I bet I've eaten my weight in greens this year. We probably eat them 3 or 4 times a week. They are growing turnip, mustard and collard greens. I can hardly tell the difference, I like them all! They have grown really well this year, from late summer till now and they are still going strong. Mom decided to freeze some so that we can enjoy them all winter. If you've never tried them, you don't know what you're missing and they are so good for you! I'm definitely going green this fall!

My Dad loves them so much, it's the one thing he'll actually help do in the kitchen!

Country Living

I decided I better not let another month go by and not post something! I don't know what has been up with me lately. Guess I just haven't had much to say. We've had a pretty busy summer and it's hard to believe that fall is upon us. There are a few things I like about the fall, like pumpkins, mums and Thanksgiving, but after that it's all down hill for me! I dread the cold, gray months that follow.

One thing I always look forward to is the Country Living fair! Me, Rebekah and Alex headed to Columbus for the fair and an all girls shopping weekend! It was perfect weather this year, when we got there Saturday morning it was sunny and around 70, just right for walking around and enjoying being outside.

I love to see the Country Living signs, and the village that they have the show in is so cool!

There seemed to be a lot of booths this year and some pretty neat ones...we also spotted the Country Living editor doing a commercial in front of one of the shops

we knew this lady looked familiar when we saw her!

We found some really cool things (here is one of Rebekah's purchases........we love this!) I would have to say though, the best thing we bought all weekend were some pumpkin cookies....OMG! they were so good....if you get a chance to buy something from here www.the200acres.com you won't be sorry!

It was a really great weekend.....I love spending time with my peeps!

Looking forward to next year!
